Story
Rogue One tells the story how the rebels served the information that eventually helped Luke Skywalker to destroy the Death Star in the film now called Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (original star wars movie).
Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), an orphaned delinquent who finds herself caught up in the Rebel Alliance after they discover her father, long thought dead, has created the Death Star.

Rogue One is set just before the events of A New Hope movie.
The idea for a standalone movie came from Star Wars creator George Lucas. The movies working title was ‘Red Cup’.
John Knoll (visual effects supervisor) came up with the story idea to base the first standalone on A New Hope’s opening scroll.
Garry Whitta wrote the first draft of the screenplay and came up with the movie’s title.
Characters
Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is a defiant young woman whose father is designing the Empire’s ultimate weapon, but who was raised as a fighter by a rebel commander.
Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), a rebel officer who will do whatever it takes for the cause.
Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), a former Empire pilot who switched sides to follow his conscience.
K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk)also know as K-2 for short was the tall Empire droid that had been reprogrammed by the Rebels. He says whatever he wants, providing some of the funniest moments in the film.
Death Troopers are the Galactic Empire’s stormtroopers. They are tall, slender and clad entirely in black.
Film Locations
The interior of the Empire base on Scarif was filmed in Canary Wharf tube station.
Filmmakers built one on an eight-acre set at an old air base in England, trucking in tropical foliage, palm trees and 2,000 tons of sand.
Music
Michael Giacchino composed the music for Rogue One. This is the first Star Wars movie that John Williams has not recorded the score for.
