Ariane 4 was an ESA (European Space Agency) Space Rocket.It was launched from Kourou. Ariane-5 is the successor.
Ariane 4 was the last version of the generation of launchers made up of: Ariane 1 launched from 1979 to 1986; Ariane 2 and 3 launched from 1983 to 1989. Ariane-4 development commenced in 1982.
The last Ariane-4 rocket was launched on Saturday 15th, February, 2003.
