There is no shortage of ideas for Space Projects! What is lacking is for someone-government's, NASA, Russia, Europe, Japan, China etc to get the will power and start doing some Space Projects that push our Space Development.

Space Ship One won the X-Prize competition and this has paved the road to start commercial space tourism. Virgin Galactic may be first company to launch commercial sub-orbital space flights.

I think Russia Commercialising Mir was a great idea. Nasa and the International Partners should commercialize the International Space Station (ISS) as soon as possible.

Nasa needs to move ahead and spend its resources in firstly creating a Lunar Space Station! In January 2004 George Bush announced the new space vision for exploration and it is centred on Project Constellation. The plan is to use the Crew Exploration Vehicle to return to the Moon.

Potential of the Moon

The Moon is abundant with resources. Its soil contains raw materials that have the potential to be used to produce rocket fuel or breathable air. Returning to the moon is also an important step in extending human presence in space. It can be used as a launch platform to launch missions to other planets. Spacecraft assembled and launched from the moon can escape its low gravity using much less energy than craft from Earth's orbit.

Super Launch Vehicles

The Energia Launch Vehicle could be easily available to Nasa if they really wanted it! It has tremendous commercial potential.

Commercialized Space Stations

Ideas for new modules for Space Stations:

1. Hydroponics Module

Experiment and grow vegetables etc! This would be a perfect opportunity for the world's scientific coomunity to participate.

2. Visitor's Module

A dedicated module for visitor's to Mir or ISS. This can also be used by astronauts and cosmaunts. The Module can be paid by sponsors, such as, a hotel group like the Hilton. Goods on the module can be supplied by sponsors.

3. Workshop Module

This module can be equipped with experimental equipment in order to create satellites and repair them, to weld materials and make tools or whatever the scientists think of.

4. Launch Mini Satellites via a Space Gun

A special module could be created which holds the special gun! The satellites could be manufactured or assembled in space or bought up via Progress Vehicle. Larger Space Guns could be launched by the US Shuttle or even the Buran if it was ressurrected!
