Buy Rating(November 2007) - Great for the family, highly recommended.

In Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii, Mario must once again rescue the kidnapped princess, this time in the reaches of space. Because of the low gravity in space, it is now possible for Mario to jump higher than ever before, experiment with physics and new locations. This and other new movements are executed by the player with the new Wii Remote.

Players can run, jump and battle enemies as they explore the many planets. Press buttons, swing the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers, and use the Wii Remote to point at and drag things on-screen. Perform mind-bending, low-gravity jumps across wild alien terrain. For 1 to 2 players.

The ultimate Nintendo hero is taking the ultimate step ... into space.

  • Become Mario™ as he traverses gravity-bending galaxies, traveling in and out of gravitational fields by blasting from planet to planet. Players experience dizzying perspective shifts as they run upside down through wild alien worlds that need to be seen to be believed. Whether you're surfing on a ray across an ocean in the clouds, rolling on a ball through a treacherous garden, or floating in a bubble over a poisonous swamp, there's no limit to the cosmic challenges you'll encounter!
  • Controlling Mario is simple with the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™. Players move Mario with the Control Stick and shake the Wii Remote to perform a spin move or cue stars that launch him to and from planetary objects. Players can even point at Star Bits to collect them or latch on to stars to blaze a magnetic trail through the heavens.
  • Don't want to head into space alone? With a second Wii Remote, another player can play alongside by pointing at and collecting Star Bits, then launching them at enemies. The second player can even sweep aside projectiles or stall enemies to help make Mario's adventure easier.
  • Search the depths of space for all-new transformations! As Boo Mario, you can hover over the ground and even slip through walls! Or, transform into Bee Mario and buzz through the sky!

Wii Console

Nintendo's Wii video game system (pronounced "we") is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together--whether they're in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system's name reflects this simple idea. Each Wii comes with a game compilation called "Wii Sports," including tennis, golf, baseball and bowling games, that will show off the console's intuitive controller.

Wii Nunchuk Controller Picture

Wii Nunchuk Controller

The Wii Nunchuk controller is a secondary controller that adds even more innovation to the next generation of gaming, and does it all with less physical movement.

Used in conjunction with the standard Wii remote, certain games need the Nunchuk controller for additional control options. Contoured perfectly to fit a player's hand, the Nunchuk controller builds on the simplicity of the Wii Remote controller. The Nunchuk contains the same three-axis motion sensor found in the Wii Remote, but also includes an analog stick, and two buttons to help assist in character movement.

Many games will allow you to control your character's movement with the Nunchuk in your left hand, while your right hand is free to execute the action movements with the Wii Remote. For example, the Nunchuk is particularly useful for games like Wii Boxing. You can use the Nunchuk to punch with your weaker hand, while you use the Wii remote to punch and jab with your predominant hand.,,
