The Sarah Jane Adventures is a British tv series starring Elisabeth Sladen and plays Sarah Jane Smith. It was created by Russell T. Davies. It was produced by BBC Wales for CBBC.
The programme is a spin-off of the long-running BBC science fiction programme Doctor Who and focuses on the adventures of investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith. The series debuted on BBC One with a 60-minute special, entitled "Invasion of the Bane" on 1 January 2007. A full series of ten 30-minute episodes will be broadcast in late 2007 on the BBC. History of Sarah Jane Smith Sarah Jane Smith is a character from Doctor Who and its related spin-offs. Elisabeth Sladen has played all Sarah Janes. Sarah has been one of the longest serving companions on Doctor Who and she appears as a regular character in 18 stories over four series and is the first (human) companion to appear in a spin-off, the 1981 television pilot K-9 and Company. She is the central character in the ongoing series The Sarah Jane Adventures. Sarah Jane Smith is an investigative journalist who is a companion of the third and fourth incarnations of the Doctor. She was a regular in the programme from 1973 to 1976 (seasons 11 – 14) and returned to Doctor Who several times since, most recently in the 2006 episode "School Reunion", opposite David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. feature-length episode of Doctor Who, produced in celebration of
the programme's twentieth anniversary. It originally aired in the
UK on November 25, 1983. Dimensions in Time is a charity special crossover between the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and the soap opera EastEnders that ran in two parts on November 26 and 27, 1993. It was filmed on the EastEnders 'Albert Square' set and features several of the stars of that programme at the time. Produced after the show's cancellation in 1989 for the Children in Need charity, this special was the only dramatisation broadcast in celebration of Doctor Who's 30th anniversary. Doctor Who
Series 2 (2006) Doctor Who End of Time (2010) In part 2 of the 2010 Doctor Who special The End of Time, the Tenth Doctor (played by David Tennant) briefly visits several of his old companions to deliver parting gifts and say goodbye prior to regenerating. His "gift" to Sarah Jane is to push her adopted son Luke out of the way of an oncoming car. Luke recognizes the Doctor and calls his mother, who sees the Doctor solemnly staring at her from outside the TARDIS. K-9 and Company "A Girl's Best Friend" K-9 and Company was a tv spin-off of the original series run of Doctor Who (1963-1989). It featured Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen) and K-9, a robotic dog. Both characters had been companions of the Fourth Doctor, but this series was the first time they had ever appeared together. One episode, A Girl's Best Friend, was produced, as a pilot for a proposed series: this option was not taken up, but it was broadcast by BBC One as a Christmas special on December 28, 1981. The Sarah
Jane Adventures "Invasion of the Bane" is the first episode of the British science fiction tv series 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'. It was originally broadcast on 1 January 2007. It was commissioned before the script for Bane was written. The new series will consist of 10 parts (episodes) 4th Series Series Four of The Sarah Jane Adventures is scheduled to air this Autumn 2010 on CBBC. The series is expected to be the biggest and best yet, due to the support from CBBC, and hosts some brand new villains including, The Nightmare Man, The Dark Horde, Men in Black, Tudors and Nazis! The Third Doctor's former companion - and Sarah Jane's immediate predecessor - Jo Grant, portrayed by Katy Manning, and the Eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith, will appear in an episode of the fourth series.
