Day of the Moon

Day of the Moon is the second episode of the two parter opener for Doctor Who Series 6. The first part / episode was called Impossible Astronaut and it was the first episode of Doctor Who Series 6.  This episode features River Song and the Silence. Check out the latest dvd.

Day of the Moon was written by Steven Moffat and directed by Toby Haynes. It will be shown on the 30 April 2011 in the UK on BBC One, in the U.S. on BBC America. It will premiere in Australia on ABC 1 on the 5th of May 2011, one week later.

Part 2

The Doctor is locked in the perfect prison. Amy, Rory and River Song are being hunted down across America by the FBI. With the help of new friend and FBI-insider, Canton Everett Delaware the Third, our heroes are reunited to share their discoveries, if not their memories. For the world is occupied by an alien force who control humanity through post-hypnotic suggestion and no one can be trusted. Aided by President Nixon and Neil Armstrong’s foot, the Doctor must mount a revolution to drive out the enemy and rescue the missing little girl. No-one knows why they took her. Or why they have kidnapped Amy Pond…

This pair of episodes marks the first time that Doctor Who has filmed principal photography footage within the United States; the American-produced TV movie of 1996 was filmed in Canada. Some second-unit establishing shots of New York and the Statue of Liberty were filmed on Liberty Island for the episode 'Daleks in Manhattan', but none of the cast of the episode were involved in the shoot. It is also the first time that the revived Doctor Who has opened a series with a 2-part story.

Apollo 11 was the first mission to land a man on the moon. It was launched on a Saturn V rocket at at 9.32am local time (EDT) on July 16, 1969 from Pad 39-A from Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA.
